ABOUT US

My father’s interest in game chickens first started in the early seventies.  He purchased some, and they quickly became a hobby. He gradually stopped raising them due to work and raising a family, but it was always his desire to be able to raise game chickens.

My dad, Wilbur Parlor, stepped out of his truck at his job late one evening in 2016 and heard a rooster crowing.  He had always loved chickens, especially game chickens. He listened and drove into the neighborhood where he thought he heard the crowing.  He found the chickens and bought one rooster; the “fever” began. He drove a truck and during his breaks he would search for quality game fowl on the internet and out of a magazine named “The Gamecock”. His one rooster quickly grew into roosters and hens of a nice variety of carefully chosen breeds.  His dream was to retire and have a game chicken farm to help his grandsons gain work ethic and provide them with a little spending money. Late one Saturday evening, March 17, 2018, he suffered a massive heart attack and died while feeding his chickens.  We always called the chickens “Papa’s chickens”, thus the name “Papa’s Game Fowl”. It is my desire to continue the dream he had of raising game chickens and instilling work ethic in my boys.
